Tavistock: expect the unexpected!
The specialist on groups is the Tavistock Institute (founded in 1947, London). This institute applies scientific knowledge from sociology, psychology and psychotherapy to organisations. It focuses on understanding change in ever changing and increasingly complex systems. In so called ‘group relations’ conferences participating managers, coaches and consultants explore the process in their own group for days. This experience helps professionals to understand and influence the dynamics of groups, and organisations. Main concepts of Tavistock thinking are: role and role analysis, hidden (sometimes unconscious) aspects of groups, creating a safe space for a difficult conversation, experiential learning and theoretical reflection. https://www.tavinstitute.org
